The Siouxland Foster Parent Association works to provide the following services for children in foster care: Activity reimbursement scholarships Clothing Personal hygiene items Christmas gifts Bicycles Musical instruments While continuing to provide these on-going services, the Association has identified some important and unmet needs. As the number of children in foster care continues to climb, we believe this trend can be reversed. By identifying barriers to success, we believe we can take a preventative approach to ending the generational cycle of abuse and neglect among families in our community.

While it is most often a rewarding experience, fostering can also be extremely challenging. As an Association, we have identified the needs that are common to most foster families and currently offer the following services to our foster parents: Educational/Training Program Crib/furniture exchange or loan program Counseling services Networking with and support from other foster parents dealing with unusual situations For information on becoming a member, please contact us.
